The Hen Harrier

At the current rate of decline, we could lose the Hen Harrier to extinction in the next 25 years, its stunning sky dance lost from hills and mountains and left only to memory. We have reached a crisis point. Urgent intervention is needed if we have any hope of bringing the Hen Harrier back from the brink. Make a submission to the draft Hen Harrier Threat Response Plan Public Consultation before...

The risk of rodenticide exposure to wildlife

The control of rodents is necessary in agriculture and in other situations to prevent contamination of food, spread of disease and damage to buildings and machinery. However, the manner in which we control rodents can have serious impacts on other wildlife. 'Human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas.' Oh, really. It's time anyone preaching this absolute nonsense was removed from the 'scientific' community. This is bogus 'science' brainwashing carried out by the WEF. There is NO evidence that this is true, and yet you seek to destroy our lives and economies in pursuit of a myth.

I watched this video to confirm if the bird in my back garden in Blackrock, Co. Dublin which has now plucked and is proceeding to eat a pigeon is, as I suspected, a Hen Harrier. Indeed it is. It is a female. I saw one some years ago in the garden but that one was motionless, probably on the lookout for a unsuspecting small bird at the feeder. The pigeon put up a struggle.

Don't know the situation in Ireland but here in Britain it's the development of wearhouses and house being built on green belt land that is the major problem here. It's so sad that when I was in my 20s there was more green belt land than there is now. Also barns being converted into house . But on a plus most farmers and people are encouraging barn owls by putting up owl boxes .

I live in Florida, and one of the places I worked in had a barn owl nest in the trees at the front of the property. I worked nights, so I got to hear the babies screeching quite often. I was even lucky enough to see one of the parent owls glide over the yard. I adore these birds, they are so important to the environment. It’s good to see people getting involved in protecting them. ❤️
